iPad to Replace College Textbooks

Many Tech reporters speculated long before the iPad was launched that it may be aimed at college students as a way to make learning easier and bring tools into the classroom that could aid the teacher as well as the students. Oklahoma state and Illinois Institute of Technology are on-board with the idea as both colleges will be introducing the iPad into select courses in an effort to cut costs and keep up with the ever-changing face of technology.

One analyst points out that the cost of a new iPad for one student can easily be returned if it were to replace textbooks that the student would otherwise have to purchase for the next few years. Bringing iPads to incoming freshman is a small way to help the environment, save money and put a smile on every college student’s face. After all, a free iPad isn’t a bad way to go.
