We are just a few days away from an Apple event that will likely be the announcement of a new iPhone. As many speculate, the following month, October 12, Apple will announce their first iPad or large iPod at 7-inches.
Some think that the announcement of the smaller iPad is too close to the tragic loss of Apple’s co-founder. On October 5th, 2011, Steve Jobs passed, likely due to his long-time battle with pancreatic cancer. Now nearly a year later, the iPad Mini is rumored to be revealed only a week after Job’s 1-year anniversary.
7-inch tablets have not seen sales nearly comparable to the iPad so it’s questionable how well a product like this will do once on the marketplace. Steve was always against such a product and critics cry it to be in poor form for Apple to have Steve’s passing and the iPad Mini announcement a short 7 days apart. Optimists say Apple will likely not only announce the iPad Mini but hold a commemoration event.
