Amazon.com Introduces iPad App

The largest online retailer, Amazon.com has released a iPad specific application that will allow iPad users to search products, purchase, retrieve tracking information and more. Of coarse, this will also allow Amazon into the iPad in-order to sell Ebooks. Amazon rivals the iPad with it’s own Ebook dedicated device, Kindle. The iPad offers much more than the Kindle though. Here is what an Amazon spokesperson said:

The company competes with Apple for sales of digital books and music. Amazon.com’s Kindle e-reader faced a new challenger with last month’s release of the iPad, which has a color screen and can access the Internet. In April, Amazon.com forecast earnings for the current quarter that fell short of analysts’ predictions.

Customers can download the iPad application from Cupertino, California-based Apple’s online store
